It is almost certain that at some time in your life you have taken some sticks and string and made what you thought was the best bow and arrow in the world. Some of you will have taken this one step further, maybe to wild prairies of North America where you would re-enact the steps of the fearsome Red Indians.
Or perhaps you were more at home hidden away in the ancient Sherwood Forest, stalking and robbing the rich as Robin Hood or one of his many Merry Men.
Well if this has sparked of any those fond childhood memories, then I ask you why just leave them as a memory. Even if you have never had the opportunity to experience the pleasures of archery, there can always be a first time.
Archery is an exciting and unusual sport, with the challenge being how ever far you wish to take yourself. It can be just hitting the target, improving on a personal best, winning a club competition, claiming a new club record, to shooting for your county and even representing your country.
The sport is an ideal hobby for any person who wants to get into the open outdoors (well during the dry seasons). You can shoot as an individual, or with a group of archers in a team. The sport is one with such great flexibility that it can be adapted to meet the needs of all its followers.
